Tell me about your tea

Shan Valley tea is specially grown and packaged in order to maximize taste. Each of our teabags contain 2.8 grams of loose leaf tea. The tea is meant to be brewed in 16 oz of hot water.

Where is it coming from?

Shan Valley tea is grown in Northern Shan State Burma, or Myanmar.

Where did the name 'Shan Valley' come from?

Our tea growing location is located in Northern Shan State Burma, and is surrounded by vegetation and valleys.

What does 'First Flush' mean?

First Flush, is actually defined as the escalated growth of new leaves on the tea plants in the spring time after they awaken from dormancy. Usually this happens in April or May and creates a unique taste only available once a growing season! Traditionally, this tea was reserved only for Royalty.

 

Which teas should I drink with milk and sugar?

We're not going to stop you, but we recommend you to drink only black tea with milk and sugar. Traditionally green tea is meant to be drunk without any additives or additional flavoring.

Are your tea bags environmentally friendly?

What a good question! Yes they are. Our tea bags are made from 100% biodegrable material.

Can I get Shan Valley tea in my area?

Our teas Green and Black are now available at Whole Foods Market in NY, NJ and CT North East region.
